Yes, I actually have a living room that I use. An “away” room, I like to call it. No TV, no computer, no papers needing my attention, often no devices….just room to BE.

Time out. Here I can entertain myself. Stare, think, muse, write, read. Watch the changing light on the walls, the dust motes in the sunbeams, the clouds from the window.

I gain a different perspective, even if it is as simple as an alternate view of the nearby rooms.

And what’s the value of this? Time or space is never wasted if it helps us, as a dear friend likes to say, “re-charge, refresh, renew”.

A fresh outlook is hard to come by without a little space.
